NETIVEI RESHET ORGANIZATION:
STAYING ON TRACK IN TODAY'S VIRTUAL WORLD

The Internet and multimedia has revolutionized virtually every aspect of modern day life.  The way we manage our lives, how we share information, and even our personal conduct, are all shaped by digital technology.  Though it ushers in many opportunities and benefits, the Internet and multimedia also presents new challenges.  The Web's boundless access to information - and to people – creates many risks, in particular for children and teens who use them primarily for leisure and entertainment.

In 2008 Yona Pressburger established the Netivei Reshet organization along with a small group of Israelis concerned for Israel's youth, empowering parents to create a healthy environment for their children's growth in today's digital world.  But as technology continues to develop at a frenetic pace as it goes mobile and takes over kids' lives, the stakes are even higher.  Netivei Reshet aims to meet the task by uniquely offering comprehensive and innovative solutions to the physical, psychological, educational, social, cultural and ethical challenges of the Internet and multimedia, focusing its activities in three tracks:

1. EDUCATION AND INFORMATION TRACK

•    Raise awareness about intelligent and safe use of the Internet and multimedia through lectures and workshops, publications and educational material
•    Advancing the protection of children on the Internet through information, public advocacy and improving ethics on the Web

2. ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TRACK

•    Assistance in identifying children and youth who have suffered abuse, trauma or other Internet related problem
•    Personal, anonymous guidance to children, youth and their parents, and referrals as needed to appropriate health and medical professionals
•    Resource for Educators, organizations and professionals in the field
•    Hotline for personal and technical advice

3. MONITORING AND RECOMMENDATIONS TRACK

•    Monitoring of software for filtering, time management and multimedia content
•    Technical recommendations based on the needs and uses of current developments
•    Recommendations about positive websites and multimedia content
